AWARD DETAILS
-
The EDGY VEG AWARDS are a celebration of local food innovation, mouthwatering regional flavours, and sharing meals that give back to the planet.
Organised by Veg Action of the Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group, the Awards are designed to support local cafes, restaurants and pubs to create new and exciting plant-based dishes to showcase just how fabulous eating more veg, more often can be!
Eating more plant-based dishes - we recommend they feature in your meal plan at least 3 days per week - is linked to better human health and a reduction in the negative effects of industrial livestock farming, such as deforestation, greenhouse gases, pollution, antibiotic resistance, erosion and biodiversity loss.
Join up to the Edgy Veg Trail to discover the delicious local fare on offer and support cafes and pubs in the Macedon Ranges.
NOTE: Not all cafes will have more than one plant-based dish on offer - please check with them for menu details.
-
The Edgy Veg Awards will run from 1st - 30th April. During this time, you can visit as many participating cafes, pubs and restaurants as you like and score their dish.
The more venues you visit and score, the more chance you have of winning a prize.
NOTE: You can only score each dish once.
-
Every time you score a dish, your name will be entered into the draw to win a weekend getaway (one night) at Lancefield Guest House (subject to availability). Scoring is open from 1st-30th April. The winner will be randomly drawn from all entries on 6th May at Woodend Community House and published through Veg Action's Instagram and Facebook pages on 13th May.
Find out about Lancefield Guest House here: https://www.lancefieldguesthouse.com.au/
Please note, you can only score each dish once.
-
The scores of each dish will be calculated with reference to the number of votes received by the dish. The dish has to have a minimum of 20 votes to qualify to win.
The highest scoring dish will win the award!
The decision of the judges is final and no discussion will be entered into.
